Justice for Markeis McGlockton

Markeis McGlockton is the latest victim of cold blooded murder justified by Florida’s sick ‘Stand Your Ground’ law.

On July 19th, 2018 Markeis McGlockton, accompanied by his girlfriend and three children, parked in a handicap space at a minimarket store. McGlockton took his 5-year-old son and went into the store leaving his girlfriend and two toddlers in the car. That’s when Michael Drejka, a 47-year-old white man walked over to the car. Drejka, armed with a concealed gun, yelled at the mother of 3 for over a minute and a half for parking in a handicap space. FOR A MINUTE AND A HALF. McGlockton exited the store and approached Drejka who was still yelling at his family. McGlockton shoved Drejka to the ground. While Drejka was on the ground, McGlockton backed away. Then while McGlockton was turning to walk away, Drejka pulled out a pistol and shot him dead in front of his girlfriend and 3 children.

The killer, Michael Drejka, declared his rights under the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law and the police let him go. He was not arrested and there have been no charges filed. This was 13 days ago. (See the video here)

Further details about Michael Drejka are being revealed. Another customer at the same minimarket has alleged that Drejka had threatened to shoot him over the very same parking space. The owner of the minimarket has had to call the police on Drejka for fighting with other customers on multiple ocasions. There is a police report of Drejka brandishing a pistol at some teens during a road rage incident.

It is incredulous that the police have not charged Drejka with murder. He committed murder. Cold blooded murder. He was shoved to the ground. He was angry about it and he killed McGlockton for it. The stand your ground law is an abomination. A man who initiates an altercation with a woman with two toddlers and gets shoved to the ground as a result does NOT have the right to commit murder. No reasonable person could watch that video and conclude that Drejka should have feared for his life. McGlockton shoved Drejka down, and rightfully so I might add, and then McGlockton backed away.

The notion that an acceptable response to a shove is MURDER is INSANE. To pretend that this is rational is inconceivable. What kind of world are we living in? This is Florida. It is sick.
